Oil spillage refers to the accidental or intentional release of oil into the environment, typically into bodies of water such as oceans, rivers, or lakes. Oil spills can have significant environmental and economic impacts, as they can harm wildlife, damage ecosystems, and disrupt local economies that rely on fishing, tourism, or other activities.

It was a collaborative effort between the NES Rivers state chapter and the NES National body which has  looked into the issues of the oil spill in the region and also the negative impact it has brought to that region.

Effective prevention, response, and cleanup efforts are critical to minimizing the damage caused by oil spills.
